Synso Embedded Computer |
| Overview |
 |
|
The soLinux Embedded Computer is a tiny yet powerful embedded computer with
Linux system pre-installed. It is very appropriate to be used to build your low
cost, low power consumption, high performance embedded system.
With soLinux
pre-installed, you do not need to worry about OS and device drivers. All you
have to do is to write a standard Linux program with our development kit and put
it on the embedded computer.
Moreover, soLinux provides you with some popular
applications such as web server, PPP server, FTP client/server, TELNET
client/server¡Ketc.
n addition to the pre-installed programs, it allows you to develop and add
your own applications to it. See Synso Development Package (Make-And-Run and
Source-Level) for more information.
Of course, we can customize the hardware and software to meet your needs.
See here.
As to the connections, it includes an Ethernet port, two
rs232 ports, an I2C, and 8 GPIOs.

| Distribution |
 |
The soLinux Embedded Computer is available in several distribution options.
- Box type: A box (see the picture in previous section).
- Board type: A board without external box.
- Development package: A package for developers, including a board, an I/O
accessory board, a development CD-ROM and associated cables.

| Features & Benefits |
 |
|
Low cost and low power consumption
The soLinux Embedded Computer uses RISC architecture and tiny design to achieve
the goal of low cost and low power consumption.
Robust and reliable
No fan, no hard disk and no other moving parts make it robust and reliable.
Pre-installed Linux
In addition to the hardware, it has a Linux system pre-installed. Therefore, you
do not need to design an OS or any device drivers for it. In fact, you can
consider the soLinux Embedded Computer a tiny Linux server. It contains web
server, ppp server, ftp server and telnet server.
Development kit
It provides a development CD-ROM allowing you to compile and link your Linux
programs to be able to run on the soLinux Embedded Computer.
Network ready
With an Ethernet port and serial ports, it is ready to connect to LAN and WAN.
Flexible connections
It provides two serial ports, an I2C, and 8 GPIOs for you to connect to various
types of devices.
Web enabled
It has a web server pre-installed allowing users to retrieve data or control
devices remotely via a web browser.
Ready-to-use samples
The development kit contains a rich set of samples such as web-based
administration, PLC controller¡K, that can speed up your development.

| Applications |
 |
|
Tiny Linux server
It is a tiny Linux server by default without having to add anything. When you
turn on the soLinux Embedded Computer, a Linux server is started.
Device server, device gateway
It can be used to sense the status, acquire data, diagnose or control the
devices connected to it. The connections include serial ports, I2C and/or GPIO.
Moreover, with the Ethernet or PPP support, it allows users to manage the
devices remotely. The most popular and convenient way for users is to use a
standard web browser. It can be done easily with the pre-installed web server.
These are some possible applications: PLC controller, device server, network
management, factory automation, building automation, industrial automation and
control, security device, environmental monitoring, data acquisition server,
machine maintenance.
Others
It is a tiny Linux computer itself. Write your Linux application and put it on
this embedded computer. You can turn it into anything depending on your
application.
