.NETpower Software |
| Overview |
 |
| The .NETpower UPS software monitors the UPS status and
it will shut down the operation system and UPS when a critical
event occurs to protect the system and conserve the battery. In
addition, when an event occurs, it will notify users of such event
via network message, page, email. Lastly, it supports both SNMP
and HTTP which allow users to manage the UPS remotely via an SNMP NMS or a web browser.
You can remotely view the status, configure settings, setup schedule,
control the UPS, check the logs, and more. |

| System Shutdown |
 |
| The .NETpower UPS software can shut down the computer system gracefully to
protect you from system damage and data loss when a critical event occurs. |
| Work Save |
 |
| The .NETpower will try to save all files opened by Windows application before shutting down the system.
It prevent your work from being lost. |
| Dependent Shutdown |
 |
| A UPS can supply power to more than one computer, so there could be more
than one computer necessary to be shut down before turning off the UPS.
In addition, some client computers will need to be shut down before their
server shuts down.
Considering both of the above cases, the .NETpower provides a
Dependent Shutdown feature. It can shut down more than one computer on
the LAN at the same time. It requires the OnEvent to be installed on those dependent computers.
|
| Network Management |
 |
| The .Netpower provides a very advanced yet easy-to-use network management feature.
It supports both SNMP and HTTP.
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is used widely in network management area. With the support of SNMP, the .NETpower turns your UPS
into an industrial standard network management device. You can use an SNMP NMS such as HP OpenView to management the UPS remotely.
Moreover, it creates a web sites for your UPS allowing you to management the UPS via a web browser (like Internet Explorer or Netscape).
|
| Information Management |
 |
The .NETpower allows you to view the information and status of
the UPS locally or remotely. It presents the information in graphic formats
from some different point of views: inside activity, power meters, and
scope chart.
The .NETpower maintains two log files:
- an event log file which contains all UPS- related events, such as
power failures, shut downs, power recoveries, etc;
- a data log file which is a collection of the UPS power quality,
including input voltage, output voltage, battery voltage,
temperature, etc. chart.
|
| Flexible Event Action |
 |
| You can define actions for each event. The
.NETpower will take actions
according to your definitions when an event occurs. The type of actions include
logging, network notification, email, paging, executing command file, and
system shutdown.
It also allows you to customize the warning messages as you like.
|
| Notifications |
 |
When an event occurs, such as a power failure or a low battery condition,
the .NETpower will notify you no matter where you are. It
supports the following notification methods:
- Sending network message to users.
- Paging users.
- Sending e-mail to users.
- Sending OnEvent message to users.
|
| Scheduling |
 |
| The .NETpower allows you to set up the schedule for your UPS so
that it can shutdown/startup the system or initiate self-test automatically
according to your settings. In addition, for some UPS models, it allows you
to set up the schedule for every single outlet separately.
|
| Security |
 |
| You can define who has the rights to access to the UPS. The
.NETpower can secure your UPS accordingly. |
| Multilingual |
 |
| The .NETpower can detect system's language and switch to the
language system automatically. |
| OnEvent Agent |
 |
| OnEvent is a new notification technology, which can exchange multimedia
messages over LAN, regardless of operating system. When a power
event occurs, a multimedia message box will be displayed on each
computer with OnEvent software installed. OnEvent is able to detect system's language and display messages in
your language automatically.

It is also a shutdown agent which will shut down the system when receiving a
shutdown signal sent from the monitoring program over LAN. At present time, the
OnEvent Agent supports Windows series, OS/2, NetWare, Linux, Solaris, AIX,
HP-UX, and IRIX.

| Device Manager for Windows |
 |
| In the package, we provide a powerful tool for Windows users to manage the UPS locally or remotely. |
| Web Server for Windows |
 |
| In the package, we provide a tiny web server for Windows users. If you do not want to use PWS or IIS
for some reasons,
you may install our tiny web server. |
